Tugrul Tekbulut

Founder and Executive Chairman

At the forefront of Timus Networks stands M. Tuğrul Tekbulut, its visionary founder and executive chairman whose expertise and entrepreneurial spirit are the driving forces behind Timus’ innovative cybersecurity solutions and its laser-focus on the Managed Service Provider (MSP) space.

Belonging to the list of most visionary IT entrepreneurs, Tugrul Tekbulut is the founder of Southern Europe’s largest ISV, Logo Group, which he took public in 2000. He was its CEO for 16 years, before taking the helm as its Chairman and CTO, driving agile digital transformation within the company. Notably, Logo continues to be a majority MSP-led business today.

Tugrul’s  journey into cybersecurity began in 2013 with the establishment of LOGO Siber Güvenlik ve Ağ Teknolojileri A.Ş. (Logo Cyber Security). The company later evolved into Berqnet, with Berqnet becoming one of the leading firewall  companies in the region. In 2021, Tugrul expanded his cybersecurity vision to North America by founding Timus Networks in Boston, MA, USA, and combining all endeavors under a single brand, Timus. With Timus and its cloud-based network security solutions built by firewall experts, Tugrul’s mission is to foster a safer digital ecosystem where businesses can stay productive and protected, wherever their employees might be.

In all his entrepreneurial endeavors, Tugrul went to market only via its beloved MSP Partners. Through decades of experience, he intimately knows the MSP space, and deeply understands their pain points, and needs.  As the Executive Chairman of Timus Networks, his goal is to create products that not only delights its users, but also is easy to sell, easy to deploy, and easy to operate for Timus’ MSP partners. The Timus platform was built from the ground up with MSPs in mind.

Tugrul’s leadership extends beyond the corporate world into significant civic contributions in technology, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy. He played pivotal roles in founding the Turkish Informatics Foundation and the Software Industrialists Association and established the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Working Group within TÜSİAD (Turkish Industry and Business Association). He remains an active investor within the world startup ecosystem. Tugrul, together with his wife, Leyla Tekbulut, also made significant contributions to the Turkish education system with several schools under their name.

M. Tuğrul Tekbulut has a master’s and a bachelor’s degree from Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, Turkey in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Sabanci University, Istanbul, Turkey.
